Wildcard searches
A wildcard search uses a wildcard character at the end of a search term to represent one or more unspecified characters. The question mark
?represents a single character, and the asterisk* represents one or more characters.
For example:
-
appl?finds archived messages with search terms such as appleorapply. -
comp*finds archived messages with search terms such as computing, computer, orcompany.Note: The wildcard character must be placed at the end of the search term. The search term must contain at least three characters before the wildcard character.
In phrase searches, the
*and? characters are treated as special characters, not wildcards.
