Step 2 - Deactivate Journaling
Listed are the two journaling deactivation options:

Deactivate journaling per database.

Deactivate journal rules.Note: Emails are not saved to the Veritas Alta Archiving archive once journaling is deactivated.
To deactivate journaling per database

Click Start > All Programs > Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 > Exchange Management Console.

Select the plus sign to the left of the entry for your Exchange server.

Select the plus sign to the left of Organization Configuration.

Select Mailbox.

Within the Database Management tab, right-click your mailbox database and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

Select the Maintenance tab within the resulting Mailbox Database Properties window.

Deselect Journal Recipientand clickOK. You have successfully deactivated journaling
To remove journal rules

Click Start > All Programs > Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 > Exchange Management Console.

Select the plus sign to the left of Organization Configuration.

Select Hub Transport.

Select the Journaling tab.
-
From within the list, select the journal rule that was used for the journaling setup.

Select Remove in Actions pane.
-
Click Yes. You have successfully deleted the journal rule.
