Limitations on reviewing certain types of Skype for Business content

Arctera Surveillance uses the Arctera Archiving platform for accessing data, including Skype for Business instant messaging and conferencing communications. Arctera Archiving archives each of these communications as an individual email (EML) file that, in Arctera Surveillance, has a message type of Instant Messaging.

Skype for Business communications can include whiteboards and polls that users share during a conference. The content of these two conference features is stored in a Microsoft-proprietary XML format, which Arctera Archiving cannot index. As a result, you cannot use the facilities in either Arctera Archiving or Arctera Surveillance to search the text content of these items.
